These pictures where taken directly after my first test. Pff, first one down, one more to go; well before the big exame that is. As you can see I decided to go for something basic and comfortable; spiced up with this new white tee with a slit in the middle. Which was kindly given to me by OASAP. I just had a lovely study date with my gorgeous friend Jill. After the learning we had a dim sum lunch and I must admit I ate a little bit more than my stomach could handle. Blegh, I feel sick and tired; but it was definitely worth it. Now, I've got a little more studying to do before my head finally can hit the pillow.

event UPR BLOGGER EVENT

Last tuesday, I visited the "Behind the scenes" blogger event held by Unlimited PR. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend it from the start; but when I arrived, I really had an amazing time. Unlimited PR represents a lot of brands, such as MAC Cosmetics, Swatch and Levi's. On this blogger event some of the brands had activities in which we could participate. I -partially due to my late arrival- attended three activities; I've designed a pair of G-Star brogues, tried the new Kiss & Kill 3D glasses and got an illustration of myself made by Eva Bartels for Drykorn. Jup, I definitely enjoyed myself! Thank you so much UPR, for inviting me.

Although I've been running like a madman all day; I managed to find a little time (read: 10 minutes) between college and my working group meeting, to shoot these outfit pictures. I'm quite surprised by the way they turned out; didn't expected them to be "postable". Gosh, I just got home from the Unlimited PR Pressday. It was the first time I went to an event all by myself (now playing in the head: All by Myself by Celine Dion, so melodramatic). It took quite some time to acclimatize at first, but after I passed the awkward stage; I really had a great time. Pictures will follow soon (or later). Adios amigos!

In a post from about a week ago, I let you know I was on a never ending hunt for a wolf tee. The Mountain shirts where on top of my wish list, but due to the delivery costs and the additional taxes; it was almost imposible to buy one of those (note: I'm a poor student). So when I posted a link to this 'Get Inspired' post -in which I was explaining my dilemma- on Twitter, my dear friend Ilse responded immediately. Telling me she had an old wolf shirt for sale. Last week Ilse and I were finally reunited and she handed me this awesome wolf tee (as a belated birthday present) WOEHOE! I couldn't be more happier; from now on it's my fave tee fo sho.

Brrrr.. My toes still feel numb after shooting these pictures. Holland just turned in some kind of winter wonderland, and it only took about fifteen minutes, in order for that to happen. I really don't like snow, in matter of fact 'hate' describes my feelings towards snow more accurate. Don't get me wrong; I think it makes landscapes look pretty and I don't mind the snow one bit when I'm inside my house, with no intention to get out. But when I really need to leave my house, the snow turns into a big burden; it's cold, slippy and most of the time there is no public transportation (and when a tram finally decides to arrive it's chock full of people). Wow, I'm such a whiner sometimes blegh.

Today my mother wanted to do some China shopping at the IJ-hallen and she asked me to accompany her. The hunt for China failed epically, but here are some pictures my mom shoot for me (poor mom has senseless fingers as a result). Have a great week dear ♥

get inspired WOLF AND I..

It's been a while since I wore a more edgy and masculine outfit; I must admit I really long to wear something exactly likt this at the moment. A supercomfy look, topped off with heels (and accessoires of course ;-) And don't you love this wolf shirt, well I do; I'm desperately seeking for one as we speak (eBay, baby!).

Tomorrow it'll be the last day of my internship and I have mixed feelings about that matter. On one hand I'm glad it's over, so I'll finally be reunited with my long-time-no-see college friends (due to the fact that they were doing an internship elsewhere). But on the other hand I'll be missing having all time of the world; the internship I've been doing only took 5 hours a week (compared to the 30 hours I approximately spend normally at the university a week, not to mention the time I spend on doing my homework). Well let's throw in this Dutch saying (literally translated); every advantage has it's disadvantage.

Yesterday I attended The Green Fashion Competition, along with Whitney, Cylia & Ilona. The Green Fashion Competition is a competition for entrepreneurs in the fashion industry, for individuals (and teams) with a vision of what the future of fashion should look like. The aim of the competition is to find the talented entrepreneurs in the industry who aim to create a fashion business while sustaining biodiversity.

It really was a big spectacle; with a lot of designers who showed three pieces of their latest collection each. Here are a few pictures to give you a little impression of the evening. Warning: Picture Overload.

When my friend and I planned a trip outside to shoot some pictures, we passed by this setting; a little art exposition located somewhere in the middle of our school. This little art exhibition was hidden behind a wall of bricks, so shooting pictures in this area wouldn't be any more awkward then normal; at least we thought. During our 'shoot' we heard all kinds of noises, when we looked up to find out what's buzzin'; we realized that we were standing under this balcony where a small audience of people were witnessing our shoot. The awkward.

This was the outfit I wore when I went dim summing with Zahra last week. Some of you might have read on twitter that I've dyed my hair a few weeks ago. Well it didn't quite turned out the way I've hoped and expected; read: it turned out RIhanna red in stead of burgundy red. Thank God it was demi-permanent hair color, so it will fade slowly. I hope you had a lovely Christmas! Mine was pretty awesome, my parents surprised me with a huge bottle of Lolita Lempicka perfume: my all time favorite scent. They also gave me money for my trip to India this summer, I couldn't be more happier. The days between Christmas and New Year's eve I will fill up working.

Last year around this time I made this list of goals and wishes, so let's see if I reached them all (I'm afraid I haven't haha):

1. Passing all my school exams ☑

2. ~~Having lots of fun with my friends and family~~ ☑
3. ~~Get my driver's license~~ ☑ // jup after 4 (!) time of trying and lots of sweat and tears, this year I'm finally the lucky owner of a driver's licence
4. ~~Buying a Canon camera, a good one. This was on my wish-list for quite a while, in 2011 I hope to finally buy one~~ ☑ // I decided to buy the Nikon D3100: "best purchase ever"
5. Going to Scandinavia! ☒ // nope, unfortunately I didn't had enough time/money for a trip to Northern Europe
6. Find the perfect pair of jeans (when that happens I'll probably buy a dozen pairs) ☒ // And the searching continues..
7. ~~Learn how to sew~~ ☑ // yeah, my mom learned me the basics of sewing this summer.

It probably comes across like I've been doning nothing bút attending all kind of fashion events and gatherings. Honestly speaking, I've visit A LOT of events -(I still have a few event-related-posts in store for you)- in a short time period. Maybe a little bit too much.

But this was an event I couldn't miss, the opening of a new XL Sasha store in Utrecht! Sasha is a shop that sells super fashionable shoes. The bloggers were instructed to wear a black dress, and style it with items we could find in the store. Unfortunately I wasn't able to wear a black dress -because I had to work afterwards- so I chose to wear an all black outfit and styled it with beautiful boots they sell at Sasha. A big thanks to Unlimited PR for inviting me.

After a little trip to the city by tram and a short lunch, we visited the showroom of Oona PR. I really love Oona, all the people who work there are always so sweet and cheerful, and the ambience is just lovely. After a whole week of blog-abstinence; I'm back. I have spent my week doing nothing bút studying and I must admit I am superduper glad it is over, at least for now it is ;-)
When I got home from the library two days ago -muy exhausted of course- there was this little package waiting for me. Curious as I am, I ripped it apart in a matter of seconds to find a pretty looking jewelry box that was holding this amazing ring. I adore this ring, it's so cool and unique. Is the name of the song that's stuck on repeat for almost a week now. I don't know why actually, but somehow it has got me captured. There is just something about the melody, her voice and even though I don't understand every single word she is saying, it moves me in a mysterious way. When I listen to it I picture myself dancing -contemporary- over and over again. Counting the steps in my head -the only place where me dancing contemporary doesn't look like me dying a slow death due to bee stings- and dance, dance, dance as if there's no tomorrow.

I haven't been to the zoo since I was thirteen, so when my friend asked me whether I was in the mood for an after school trip to the zoo I didn't hesitate one bit. I even asked Ilse to come along and join in the fun! It was so strange to visit the zoo after a 7-year 'sabbatical': when I was little I used to go more often. Everything seemed much bigger when I was little, which makes sense. But getting it so close to experiencing, well it was strange! When I shook off these feelings I got captured by the emotion of nostalgia and I almost felt like a little child again. I regained the excitement of a trip to the zoo I had when I was six, and my inner-child relighted. event BRILDRAGER VAN HET JAAR

Last thursday it was time for the annual spectacle wearer of the year (in Dutch: "brillendrager van het jaar") contest. In this contest, twelve participants -each from a different province- compete for the title of spectacle wearer of the year. But this isn't the only thing the winner wins, besides the title the winner gets a modeling contract offered, a weekend trip to Paris and a professional photoshoot for the Specsavers magazine. So there's much at stake for the ladies and only the twelve best were chosen to rock the runway of the Club Trouw building.

I didn't expect there would be an actual catwalk show. That was such a pleasant surprise! The show was presented by the dutch actress Nikkie Plessen and all twelve contestants were styled from head to toe by six different stylists. The styling was divided in two categories; Color Blocking and Gold, each contestant wore an outfit from these two categories. In front of the skilled judges the candidates showed us how great the look with glasses. Here are some pictures of the show, dearies.

I felt like some sort of a jet-setter writing the title of this post. Bruxelles, Antwerp and now London? Nah, ha I wish. Today I went to this bar called London with two of my friends who I hadn't seen in quite a while, due to a combination of study hard and tumult on social area. But today we all finally made time for a little get-together and went to a jam session at a place called the "Badcuyp" which used to be a public bath. I'll include a few pictures of that place in this post too.

After that we went to the London bar and had a few Latte Macchiatos. Jenny is moving to London -what a coincidence- in about three weeks from now, to do research at the University over there and Geniva is busy with doing an internship. I'm so proud of these two girls! No wonder it was hard to plan a date with these two busy bees. Here are a few pictures which I made today.

School has started yesterday and I'm already craving for a long holiday. I really don't have the feeling I just had a break of two months, so strange.

my life BRUXELLES & ANTWERP

Yesterday I decided to take my family -my mom and dad- on a little road trip to Bruxelles. It's only a two hour drive from Amsterdam to Bruxelles, and believe it or not I've actual never visited the capital of Europe. It's a shame, I know I know.
First we went to this antique market at this place called 'Les Marolles', there were dozens of market stalls selling vintage clothing, glasses and bags. Oh and they also sold a lot of Tribal Art from African and Balinesian origin. I would have loved to roam around this market, but I really felt uncomfortable by some people who were staring at me and especially at my camera. I really didn't want people to rob my camera -dûhû- so I left it after about an hour.
After that we went to this shopping district localized on 'Rue Neuve' they've got some shops in Belgium they don't have in Holland -or Amsterdam- (yet), such as Forever 21, New Look and Promod. I really let my hair down shopping items from these stores. I will show you my new trophies very soon.
Before we left Bruxelles we went to see 'Manneke pis'! The main touristic attraction in Bruxelles (and it really showed, it was so crowded, My Gosh). The minute we arrived we saw a whole spectacle around it because it exactly existed 25 years.
On our way home we decided to pay Antwerp a visit. One of my besties emigrated to Antwerp to study over there. So we unfortunately don't get to spend a lot of time together due to distance and time. I had to see her! We spent only 15 minutes together but it was like old times.

event RIVER ISLAND CHRISTMAS SALON SHOW

Yesterday Zafiera and I went to the Christmas show from River Island which was held by Oona. September has arrived and Christmas is already coming our way. Gee times travels fast! It I'll be 2012 before I realize it.

I really enjoyed the whole setup of this show; it was small-scaled, the ambience was great and the refreshments were delicious. And I had great company! Here are some pictures I made during the show which was held at the headquarter of Oona PR Amsterdam.

new in SOUL SUCKERS

Here are a few items that I received last week and I love love love them. Especially my new lens (which I used it to make these pictures) and the Nelly Hard Rock boots are my favorite. When I received these boots they didn't fit at all, so I got behind my computer trade them by ordering a bigger size. And guess what? They were sold out. I didn't knew what to do because I didn't want to not-own them or to trade them for a different pair of shoes. Desperate me went to the cobbler -note: the hero of this story- who guaranteed me he could easily make them a size bigger. And so he did! My sad face turned into a happy one and they are my currently favorite shoes (I really should have married the guy)

inspiration WEEKEND

Only one week left. Only one week before university kicks off and I'm obliged to spend forty hours a week at the university. But what some Kung Fu Panda wisdom taught me is that yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift that's why they call it the present. So I'm going to enjoy myself to the fullest, because I'm fully aware of the fact that I haven't got a break until December (!)

outfit I FOLLOW RIVERS

The first week of my summer holiday was amazing. It's so strange to actually do nothing at all, I almost starting to feel 'useless' not working or studying. But it really gives me the time to do things I enjoy doing like chilling with my loved ones. And I know my holiday will be over in the blink of an eye, like hello my timetable is online already. So I better enjoy it while it lasts right?!

Last week Angela, Helena and I went shopping in the 9 straatjes. The 9 straatjes is a shopping district in the centrum of Amsterdam which contains 9 streets that are loaded with shops. You can find here vintage shops (like Episode and Zipper) as well as designer shops (like Acne and Tony Cohen). I really had a blast with these two crazy gals! This is the outfit I was wearing ;-)
